LANCER EVO X - 05/04/2007
Since its launch in 1992, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution has
been building a reputation as the supercar slayer. After nine generations, this vehicle really has proved the theory of evolution. Already a legend, the next incarnation of the Lancer Evolution is set to be the ultimate high performance car.
Prepare to be amazed - again!
Making its debut at the 2007 North American International Auto Show, Prototype X is the most comprehensive and dynamic performance prototype ever developed by Mitsubishi. Revealing the design for the future Lancer Evolution X, it's a prototype car with styling that raises the bar on performance car looks and features innovations that are guaranteed to thrill.
At the heart of Prototype X is an all-new all aluminium MIVEC equipped turbocharged 4-cylinder engine - a power train as serious as the flowing lines that surround it. The future Lancer Evolution X will also boast the next generation of Mitsubishi all-wheel drive - Super All Wheel Drive Control, along with the Active Centre Differential and Active Yaw Control systems from previous generations. Combined with Active Braking Control, Active Skid Control and Roll Control Suspension technologies - the Lancer Evolution X will feature one of the most comprehensive and advanced road-holding systems ever. Aluminium roof and body panels will further improve steering and handling to create a car that will be the very embodiment of "driving pleasure".
Prototype X is the final concept for the future Lancer Evolution X. While not all design features will make it to the production vehicle, 95% of the overall design and features will carry through. The Lancer Evolution X will make its global premiere on 11th September 2007 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

NEW 2007 MODEL SHOGUN ON SALE 1ST MARCH - 05/01/2007
A LEGEND REBORN

THE NEW FACE OF AN ICON

Reassuringly familiar yet notably different the brand new, fourth generation Mitsubishi Shogun is the culmination of more than a quarter century's expertise in building one of the world's favourite, most successful and most enduring 4x4s. Externally both 3- and 5-door models are reminiscent of the original Shogun concept - a cleaner, sharper silhouette than recent incarnations - with new features such as auto-levelling Xenon (High Intensity Discharge) headlamps with washers, rear view camera and reversing sensors* which are fully focused on the job in hand.

* Not available on all models.

MODEL AESTHETICS

Inside the materials are high-grade and soft touch, the access has been improved and so has the interior lighting. The seats are more supportive, the leather is more luxurious, and the third row is more spacious too. Instruments are zoned by function and on most models the frequently used audio and cruise controls can be adjusted at the steering wheel. The 30 gigabyte hard drive satellite navigation system incorporates a 7" touch-screen display whilst top-of-the-range models enjoy an exclusive, 860w Rockford sound system with 12 speakers. An even stronger body satisfies the criteria for Euro NCAP four-star rating and all models include side, curtain and dualstage front SRS airbags.

THE POWER OF EVOLUTION

Building upon the technological breakthroughs of recent years - monocoque body, all-wheel independent suspension, SS4-II four-wheel drive system, Engine Brake Assist Control, Mitsubishi Active Stability and Traction Control - the new Shogun takes all that is good from previous models and builds upon it. Smoother suspension and a more rigid body results in better handling and a quieter, more stable ride; steering is crisper and visibility improved, both at front and rear; excellent ramp angles have been retained and the wading depth increased. The 3.2 litre, common rail, direct injection diesel engine is cleaner and more economical, with increased torque on the manual, greater output power for the automatic, and better top end speed. Indeed, this new Shogun is powerful testimony to the benefits of evolution over revolution, to taking that which is proven and enhancing it.

NEW 2007 MODEL OUTLANDER ON SALE 1ST MARCH - 05/01/2007

TAKE A LOOK AT THE FUTURE

THE NEW MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER 4x4 SUV

The Mitsubishi Outlander is a good-looking, fun-driving, flexible-seating, load-lugging, big-towing, 4x4 SUV. Yet it returns, on average, more than 40 mpg and can seat up to seven in a vehicle with a smaller footprint than a Ford Mondeo. It's green on emissions, too, being in the lowest VED band of any SUV with this seating capacity and so escaping the proposed £25 London congestion charge. And, whilst it will give you and your passengers all of the usual big-car protection and more (it's engineered to achieve the absolute maximum Euro-NCAP 5-stars), it's been designed to do it in such a way as to minimize injury to pedestrians or damage to smaller vehicles. But, being a Mitsubishi, it's still a real 4x4, with integrated All Wheel Control which gives handling, traction and stability suited to the harshest conditions known to motoring man.

ALL OF THE PLEASURES, NONE OF THE GUILT

THE FIRST SPORTS UTILITY VEHICLE TO LIVE UP TO ITS NAME

It's driven by a punchy 2.0 litre, 16v, turbocharged, direct injection diesel engine with six-speed manual transmission. It has a chassis designed for sporty handling. Its brakes, suspension and aluminium roof (for a low centre of gravity) are all borrowed from Mitsubishi's iconic Lancer Evolution. It even boasts Active Stability and Traction Control throughout the range. In fact, this Outlander is an athlete worthy of the 'sports' description of its genre - a truly accomplished mileage machine - quiet, confident and rock-solid, with impressive composure through the bends and tons of feedback through steering and seat. But it's also a Sports Utility Vehicle with proper pedigree, so its drivetrain provides a choice of two-wheel drive for normal roads, on-demand torque transfer for less than perfect conditions and a locked four-wheel drive setting for more challenging terrain.

EVERYTHING YOU WANT AND THINGS YOU NEVER IMAGINED

In 5- or 7-seater guise the Outlander is as practical, versatile, clever and capacious as if you'd conjured it from your very own wish list! Seats split, tumble, slide, recline and hide themselves away in optimum fashion at the touch of a button; they're easy to get into and provide a panoramic view. The cargo space is enormous - enough to swallow a couple of mountain bikes whole - and easy to load via a split tailgate. And there are some truly inspired touches like a controlled-temperature glovebox, solar-trapping glass and an odour-eating roof! Of course there's also air conditioning, electric door mirrors and windows, cruise control, Bluetooth hands-free, 30-gigabyte hard drive satellite navigation and a 650w, 9-speaker, immerse-yourself-in-sound audio system*.

Imagine that!

Mitsubishi Double Award - 01/11/2006
The new Mitsubishi L200 pick-up and Shogun commercial have each been presented with top accolades by Professional Van & Light Truck Magazine.

Taking the title of 'Pick-Up of the Year', the all-new L200 brushed aside competition from the likes of the Nissan Navara and Toyota Hilux to be voted class champion by a considerable margin. The Shogun 4x4 commercial took top honours over the Jeep Pioneer plus the Land Rover Discovery and Defender. This is the second award for the Shogun commercial this year, having already taken 4x4 Van of the Year in 4x4 magazine's annual awards in February.

In order to choose its winners, Professional Van & Light Truck magazine deployed a panel of seven judges to spend one very intensive day driving and evaluating over 70 vehicles. Along with two members of the magazine's editorial team, five business professionals were invited to add their real-life experience to the panel in choosing the best the industry has to offer. All seven judges were given a set quantifiable methodology to follow in order to evaluate each of the products and were also armed with a kit of every-day items such as a clipboard, coffee cup, sandwich box and heavy duty jacket to look at the user-friendliness of each vehicle. At the end of a hard day's judging the winners of 14 separate categories were decided upon, with the trophies presented at a ceremony during the Commercial Vehicle Show at the Birmingham NEC in April.

On collecting the awards Jim Tyrrell, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Motors UK stated "Having only just launched the new L200 pick-up we are delighted that it has already beaten off all competition to take this award. What's more, the fact that it was judged by actual tradesmen and business owners is a testament to its appeal in the commercial market.
